Along with individuals like Antoinette Perry, Vince Lombardi and whoever the heck Oscar is, American operatic tenor Richard Tucker’s name has been memorialized in the form of an award.

And while many are privy to the talented singers who win the grants and prizes that bear his name, Tucker died in 1975 — which means a whole bunch of us have never had the pleasure of seeing the singer perform live. But the internet always comes through with recordings for us, in this case providing footage of a 1964 television appearance with host Earl Wrightson, during which Tucker sings “Nessun Dorma” and a pair of Richard Rodgers standards, “The Sweetest Sounds” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
